It's been over a month since anything has been published so it's time to update what has progressed. The beginning of January was spent getting the 3.8L MIVEC engine dropped into the Eclipse. The clutch has been upgraded to handle the increased power output, and mated to an aluminum flywheel. There is still a lot more parts to gather and pieces to be machined before this is finished, but hopeful it can be done soon
With one engine build coming to the final chapter, it is now time to begin working on our 3.8L MIVEC engine swap to bring even more advancements The entire rotating assembly has been balanced, dressed with ARP hardware, and resting on polished bearing surfaces. With cylinders slightly oversized to bump the displacement up to 3.9 Liters, this will give a small increase in torque. The cylinder heads were given BHM's porting update to ensure it breathes efficiently and without restriction to reach its full potential. The time invested to this engine project that originally began in 2010, can be seen in the meticulous detail and pride in workmanship. The customer chose the color for the valve covers, and we could not be happier with the resulting color.
